Many lash artists ask clients to keep new lashes dry and away from steam for a period of time after the appointment, often around 24 to 48 hours. Ask your artist exactly how long to wait before your first cleanse.

• Oil-based products near the eyes, such as oil cleansers and some makeup removers, which many artists recommend avoiding with extensions.
• Mechanical lash curlers on extensions.
• Sleeping face-down into your pillow when you can avoid it.
